TKE-Delta Nu takes 34 in Fall 2011 Pledge Class

Congratulations to the active chapter on taking a campus-best and possibly TKE-best Fall 2011 pledge class of 34 young men!  Good luck to these men and the active chapter as they continue pledgeship.




Over 100 Tekes attend NW Football Fall Clasic at Arrowhead

TKE Delta Nu had another great tailgate prior to the Northwest/Pitt State game on Saturday (Oct 2nd) at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.  Although the newly #1 ranked Bearcats lost on a last-second field goal, this beautiful fall day was still enjoyed by over 100 alumni and actives.  The festivities started three hours before game time and ended well after the game was over.

Frater looking for support for Breast Cancer fundraiser

Frater Darren Evans, 850, is currently training to participate in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure Walk in San Diego. 

The walk is 60 miles over the three days to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.  He has committed to raise $2,300.00 for the cause and would ask that you prayerfully consider donating to this fantastic organization.  Unfortunately, most of us know of at least one of our friends or family that has had to endure breast cancer.

16th Annual Delta Nu Memorial Scramble Golf Tournament Recap

"A Year of Firsts" - This year's golf tournament was full of all the great traditions that have been created through years past.  The day was full of "back when I was in school" stories, sun tans and wind burns, reunions of lost fraters, and continual claims of "I'll see you back here next year!" But it was this year's newest traditions that helped make the 16th Annual TKE Golf Tourney one of the best.

Redefining Fraternity

Fifty-seven years ago, on May 15th, 1954, the Delta Nu Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon was chartered at Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville, Missouri.

In 2011, Delta Nu is one of the largest chapters in TKE history with over 1500 initiated members and boasts seven Top TKE Chapter Awards and the best Alumni Association in TKE with over 170 members.

Frater Bob Cotter, 212, has passed away to the Chapter Eternal.

Fraters, please keep the family of Frater Bob Cotter in your thoughts and prayers. On Tuesday evening, Frater Bob Cotter, 212 passed away after a battle with cancer.  Bob pledged TKE in Spring of 1961 and graduated in 1965. He was Prytanis in 1963, was chapter advisor from 1974 to 1978. He also had served as director of the Northwest Alumni Association. Bob was the owner and operator of Cotter Travel in Maryville and St. Joseph.

Gunnerson Sumy, 1564, is recipient of 2011-2012 TKE Actives Scholarship

The Tau Kappa Epsilon Actives Scholarship Committee would like to commend Gunnerson Sumy, 1564 on his selection as the 2011-2012 TKE Actives Scholarship recipient. The total award is $1,000, which will be split evenly between the Fall and Spring semesters.

2011 Peter J. Greve TKE Alumni Scholarship to Jessica Dorrel of Kansas City

The committee for the Peter J. Greve Memorial TKE Alumni Scholarship is pleased to announce that Oak Park High School senior Jessica Dorrel is this year’s recipient. Ms. Dorrel was nominated for the $1,000 scholarship by her uncle, Delta Nu alumnus Tony Dorrel, 920. The award is good for the 2011-2012 term.

Frater Jerry Knauss, 345, passed away February 26th

With great sadness, I am announcing the news that Frater Jerry Knauss, scroll 345, of Burlington, Iowa, passed away in his sleep this past Saturday night.  Jerry was 68 years old.

January 30, 2010 marked a historic day for the TKE Delta Nu Alumni Association with not one bowling tournament, but two concurrent bowling tournaments in Kansas City and Des Moines! Over 30 Fraters total participated in the two events.
