For the first time since its inception in 2008, the committee for the Peter J Greve Memorial TKE Alumni Scholarship is pleased to announce the awarding of two $1000 scholarships.  Choosing a recipient from this year’s stellar list of applicants was made extremely tough because qualifications included several with grade point averages (GPA) above the perfect 4.0; plus, several who have faced life challenges including family tragedy, temporary relocation due to the Missouri River flooding of 2011 and total loss of home due to fire.  The committee is proud to announce this year’s  recipients are South Holt high school senior Blair Million and West Nodaway high school senior Wyatt Long.

Ms. Million is ranked number one in her class, a three sport athlete and activities include FFA, FCCLA, FBLA, NHS, Student Council and yearbook.  She is an active community volunteer and her instructor’s recommendation includes: “Blair is someone I hope my future daughters will emulate…”

Blair is the daughter of Delta Nu alumnus and nominator, Mike Million, and his wife, Pam, of Oregon, MO.

Residing in Elmo, MO, Wyatt is the son of Leo and Laurie Long; and also active both in high school and the community including FFA, FCA and PALS (tutoring to 4th graders) plus tutoring math to high school students.  Wyatt started his own business at the age of fourteen.  Though sidelined by injury during his senior year, Wyatt was named 2nd team All State (Eight Man Football) in three positions, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and kicker.  He was nominated by Delta Nu alumnus, Bruce Barlow.

Both Blair and Wyatt are senior class presidents and will be attending Northwest Missouri State University beginning Fall 2012; Blair will pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Wyatt in pre-pharmacy.

Congratulations Blair and Wyatt!
